OnTask

Terms of Service

Effective October 13, 2026

The short version. OnTask is made and run by one person, Bogdan Crncevic, in Serbia; email [email protected] for anything and we aim to answer within three business days. The early-access version of the app sells nothing, and early-access users hold Premium for at least six months. Premium goes on sale with a later version of the app; it is bought from the App Store or Google Play, and you cancel and ask for refunds there. Stopping paying never touches your data, and we never delete your record for not paying. Your rights as a consumer always beat these terms, and there is no arbitration: as a consumer you can always go to a court where you live. The early-access version is still being built and may lose data, so keep anything you cannot afford to lose somewhere else too.

These are the terms for using the OnTask app and this website. They are an agreement between you and us. You accept them when you tap to continue at sign-in, where the app says “By continuing, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.” If you do not agree with them, please do not use OnTask.

“You” means the person who uses OnTask. OnTask is for individuals; if you use it for your work, you still use it as an individual, and these terms apply to you as a consumer where the law treats you as one.

What we keep about you and why is in the Privacy Policy, which is part of this agreement.

Who we are and how to reach us

OnTask is made and run by one person: Bogdan Crncevic, an individual developer who lives in Serbia. When you email support, he is who answers. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “OnTask” mean him. The service may later be run by a company he owns; if that happens, we will tell you, and the section on transferring this agreement below applies.

For everything — support, questions about these terms, privacy requests and account deletion — email [email protected]. Our website is on-task.co. These terms live at on-task.co/terms and the Privacy Policy at on-task.co/privacy; the app opens both inside the app, from Settings.

What OnTask is

OnTask is an app for iPhone and Android that counts the time you spend on the work you choose. You start a session, OnTask counts it, and it is kept as part of your record together with your activities and habits. Your record is saved on your phone and on your account on our server, so that it is safe and reaches the phone you sign in on.

OnTask does not watch what you do on your phone. It asks for no location permission and uses no GPS. It has no social features: your record is for you, and we see it only as the Privacy Policy describes.

OnTask is a personal record of your time. It is not a certified timekeeping system for payroll, billing or legal evidence, and you should not rely on it alone for those.

Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law gives you that cannot be taken away by contract. Where a sentence here conflicts with such a right, the right wins, and the rest of these terms still applies.

If you live in the EU/EEA or the UK, you keep your legal right to digital content and services that conform to what was agreed. You also keep the remedies (what the law lets you ask for) that go with it. These are repair, a price reduction, or ending the contract with a refund of the unused period. You have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. For a store purchase, ask the store. The right ends early if you asked for Premium to start at once and agreed to that. You may bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.

If you live in Serbia, the Law on Consumer Protection gives you similar rights:

The licence and the app stores

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence (permission to use) to install and use the OnTask app on phones you own or control, for your own use, under these terms. The app, its name, its logo, its design and its code belong to us or to those who license them to us. You get no rights in them beyond this licence.

On iPhone, your licence to the app itself is Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple standard EULA”). Apple publishes it as part of its App Store terms. These terms govern your account and the service. If the Apple standard EULA and these terms disagree about the licence to the iOS app, the Apple standard EULA wins on that point.

On Android, Google Play’s terms govern your purchase from the store. These terms govern the licence to the app, your account and the service.

Your account

Early access

OnTask is in early access until its public launch. OnTask’s early access runs through the App Store and Google Play (on Google Play, first as a closed test), and you can get in only with the access code from your invite. During early access:

An extra month for feedback. During early access, while your account holds its own access code and for the first six months after that code was accepted, the app’s Settings has Give feedback, where you can write to us or send a voice message. Helpful feedback can earn you a longer early-access Premium: it then ends seven calendar months after your access code was accepted, instead of six. We call this the extra month. These are the conditions:

Using what you send us. You give us permission to use the ideas in the feedback and problem reports you send us to improve OnTask, and this permission lasts after early access ends. It covers the ideas, not your messages or recordings: those we keep and delete as the Privacy Policy says. We owe you no payment for your ideas beyond any extra month we choose to give, and we do not have to act on them.

Everything else in these terms applies during early access too.

Subscriptions

OnTask is free to download and use. Premium goes on sale with a later version of the app; the early-access version sells nothing (see Early access). Premium is a paid subscription that unlocks more of the app; the app’s paywall tells you exactly what, and the price and period, before you buy. There is no free trial. Premium is offered as a monthly, a six-month and an annual plan.

None of this reduces your legal remedies against us if the app does not conform to what was agreed. Those include the remedies described under Your legal rights come first. You exercise them by emailing [email protected].

Free use, and what happens when you stop paying

Stopping paying never touches your data. When Premium ends, for any reason, your account becomes an ordinary free account with its whole record intact. Every session you have counted stays, and so do your activities and habits. You lose only what Premium unlocks. If you subscribe again later, everything is there, with no gap and nothing to set up again, however long you were away.

Only you can destroy your data, by deleting your account as described below. The two other cases are a legal obligation that requires us to, and our ending this agreement — where we keep your record for 30 days first so that you can ask for a copy.

Your data

Problem reports, feedback and the microphone

The app’s Settings has Report a problem. A report carries the text you write, any photos or videos you choose to attach, and a voice message if you record one. It also carries your device details and your last seven days of OnTask activity, so that we can see what happened. You choose whether to send one. Photos, videos and a voice message upload to our private storage as you add them — a voice message when you stop recording — so that they are ready to send; nothing becomes a report until you tap Send. If you leave without sending, what was uploaded is deleted at once; anything left behind in another way, such as when the app closes before you send or a recording you replaced, is deleted 30 days after its upload. Before your first report on a phone, the app tells you that a report includes your device details and your last seven days of OnTask activity, and lets you cancel. We use a report to find and fix the problem. We may also use the ideas in it, as Using what you send us, under Early access, explains. What a report holds, who receives it and how long we keep it is in the Privacy Policy, in the problem-reports item under What we collect, and why.

During early access, Settings also has Give feedback (Early access says when), for telling us what to add or change. Feedback carries what you write or say in a voice message, with your app version, build number and platform (iPhone or Android), but not your device model, system version or activity. A voice message uploads when you stop recording, as in a report; nothing becomes feedback until you tap Send, and an unsent voice message is deleted the same way. What feedback holds and how long we keep it is in the Privacy Policy, in the feedback item under What we collect, and why.

OnTask uses your phone’s microphone only while you record a voice message. It asks for the microphone the first time you press a microphone button, and never asks again if you refuse; you can allow it later in your phone’s settings.

Acceptable use

Use OnTask lawfully and as it is meant to be used. You agree not to:

Changes to the app and to these terms

OnTask will change over time. Fixes, improvements and new features arrive through app updates without special notice.

We may change these terms, or remove or materially reduce a feature you pay for, only for these reasons:

We will tell you by email and in the app at least 30 days before such a change takes effect. The exceptions are a change the law requires and a change purely in your favour, which may take effect sooner.

If you do not agree with a change, you may end this agreement before it takes effect. Stop using the app, cancel your subscription in the store, or delete your account. If you have paid for a period you have not used up, cancel in the store and keep your access until the paid period ends. Continued use after the notice period means you accept the change. The current terms are always at on-task.co/terms, with their effective date at the top.

Ending the agreement

You may end this agreement at any time: stop using the app, cancel your subscription in the store, or delete your account as described above.

We may suspend or end your account at once for:

Otherwise, we may end this agreement, or stop offering OnTask where you live, only on at least 30 days’ notice by email. If we do, we refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription: through the store where it can do so, otherwise directly to you. For 30 days after the end, you may ask us by email for a copy of your data. Thirty days after we end the agreement, we erase your account as described under Your data, unless the law requires us to keep something.

The sections on your data, on our and your responsibility, and on how we resolve disagreements continue to apply after the agreement ends.

What we do not promise

We do not promise that OnTask will always be reachable, that it will be free of errors, or that it will suit a purpose you have in mind.

Except as these terms expressly state, and to the extent the law allows, OnTask is provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim all implied warranties, including those of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In plain words: we do not promise it will meet every need or never fail.

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or the UK, the paragraph above does not reduce your legal right to a service that works as described. Nor does it reduce your remedies for it. Nothing here lowers those rights.

Our responsibility to you

We never limit what we owe you for:

Apart from the cases in that list, our total liability to you for all claims about OnTask or these terms is capped. The cap is the larger of: what you paid for Premium through the store in the 12 months before the event, or 50 US dollars.

Apart from the same cases, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, or indirect or consequential loss.

If you live in the EU/EEA or the UK, these limits apply only to the extent the law of your country allows.

Your responsibility to us

If you break these terms or use OnTask unlawfully, and that costs us money or brings a claim against us from someone else, you pay us back. You pay the direct losses and reasonable costs your breach caused — and only those. Two limits apply. You never pay for a loss caused by our own breach or negligence (carelessness). If you are a consumer, you pay only what the law of your country allows.

If we disagree

Apple and Google are not parties

Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for OnTask. We are responsible for the app, its content and its compliance with the law, not Apple or Google. On iPhone, your licence to the app is the Apple standard EULA described above, which is Apple’s own document. Apple is not a party to it, but Apple can hold you to it directly (in legal terms, as a third-party beneficiary).
